Operations Excellence – Engineering and Technical Services

RRI Energy employs a diverse group of engineers and equipment technical specialists to provide expertise and project management to our Operations Excellence Program.

The program provides support to our operating generation fleet and other company needs in the following areas:

  • Condition Assessments for Major Equipment
    Engineers and specialists evaluate boilers, turbine generators, control systems, and other major equipment to determine equipment efficiency and provide insight for planning future maintenance needs
  • Project Design and Execution
    Manage engineering and execution of projects necessary to meet fleet reliability and efficiency goals, including major environmental control projects
  • Monitoring New Technology Opportunities
    Provide engineering assessments of advances in technologies related to power generation
  • Remote Equipment Condition Monitoring
    Provide systems for the collection and interpretation of equipment condition monitoring information in-plant and for remote access by our engineers and technical specialists
  • Special Services
    Maintain expertise in the areas of metallurgy, chemistry, quality assurance and non-destructive testing for technical problem solving
